On the ferris wheel, we sat with a couple who carried a stuffed scooby doo the size of an actual dog, and a stuffed elephant the size of a five year old child. They sat so close that there was room for the elephant to sit on the seat and an actual child or even two. The elephant stayed on her lap.
He said, ‘Can you take a photo of us?’
Their cheeks touched and they did not force their smiles.
Before I handed the camera back, I looked at the photo and said, ‘It’s beautiful, you look so beautiful.’
It was more than I’d meant to say, but less than I was thinking.
He looked at the photograph and said, ‘Would you mind just taking one more?’
